It’s understood that Wigan Athletic have made a bid for Fleetwood captain Brendan Wiredu.
After a busy window already, acquiring Josh Robinson, Joe Hungbo and Will Goodwin, could Wiredu be the 4th signing of what’s been a very promising January window.
This news comes after our recent midfield injury crisis, with Baba Adeeko expected to be out until late March with a hamstring issue and Matt Smith out until the end of the season also with a hamstring issue requiring surgery.
